Eagles Capture Championship Title in a Hard-Fought Final

On April 23rd, the 5th and 6th Grade Lake Forest Charter Eagles Baseball Team secured the championship in a game defined by grit, composure, and timely execution. Trailing 4-5 at the top of the 6th inning, the Eagles delivered a late surge, bringing in three runs to overtake Kenner Discovery and seal a 7-5 win.
The victory completed a flawless 6-0 season and reflected the team’s steady discipline, thoughtful play, and deep trust in one another. Every game tested a different skill, but together they shaped a team that was competitive, focused, and resilient.

LFC Students Lead Louisiana in Prodigy State Challenge

The Prodigy State Challenge drives engaging math practice through exciting monthly contests, with classes uniting across their school to battle others for major prizes and the title of monthly state champion. The contest culminates in a thrilling May finale, when the school in the U.S. to answer the most math questions correctly during that period earns the prestigious title of Prodigy National Cup Champion and a $100,000 tech grant.
The 5th Grade students began participating in the Prodigy State Challenge in January 2025. Lake Forest Charter won 1st Place answering 19,995 questions correctly. They earned a $500 Domino's pizza party gift card, Prodigy Champion Certificates, Prodigy swag, 1-week Prodigy Memberships and a surprise in-game reward.

In February, 5th Grade with 7th Grade students joining the challenge were able to answer 41,832 questions correctly, getting 1st Place again.
For March, 5th Grade and 7th Grade with 3rd Grade joining the challenge were able to answer 38,668 questions correctly, getting 1st place AGAIN.
For April, 5th Grade, 7th Grade, 3rd Grade with 6th Grade joining the challenge were able to answer 56,424 questions correctly, getting 1st place AGAIN.
That’s 4 times in a row!
Strings News!

On Saturday March 29, 2025 two Lake Forest Charter students participated in the Ursuline Academy Bach Contest for strings and piano. They both received the highest rating of Superior Gold Medalist!
Congratulations to one of our 6th grade students for auditioning and being accepted in NOCCA’s middle school Classical Music program. We are proud of you!
Eagles in the Spotlight

A standout Lake Forest Charter fourth grader shined bright on the cover of Essence magazine’s May edition, commemorating 20 years since Hurricane Katrina. We’re so proud to see young talent from our community representing strength, resilience, and the promise of what’s ahead.

Featured in the film Sinners, but these LFC Eagles are nothing but angels! Our Eagles proudly represented their talent and poise both on screen and in our school community.
It's a Science Bonanza!
From budding biologists to cell creators! Our 6th grade scientists are diving into the building blocks of life! Designing and constructing their very own cell models to bring biology to life, one organelle at a time!
Ms. Rafferty’s 7th grade scientists got hands-on with anatomy as they explored the inner workings of vision during a cow eye dissection, sharpening their lab skills and curiosity one eye at a time!


Exploring science beyond the classroom! Our 7th and 8th grade students took a walking field trip to Joe Brown Park, where they made real-world observations of diverse ecosystems.
Rising 9th graders got to the heart of biology, literally! Through a hands-on sheep heart dissection, students explored the anatomy of the circulatory system and strengthened their scientific curiosity with every slice.

Scientific Achievement on Display as Eagles Place Across Multiple Categories at State Fair
We are proud to recognize our outstanding 7th and 8th-grade students who recently competed at the Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair (LSEF), held on March 25, 2025, at the LSU Student Union. Our Eagles brought creativity, critical thinking, and scientific curiosity to the event, and it showed in their results. Several students earned top honors across a range of categories:

School-Wide Field Trip Builds Shared Experience
On Monday, May 12th, Lake Forest Charter held a school-wide field trip, bringing students across all grade levels into new learning environments. The day was designed to support academic growth, social development, and connection to the broader community.

2025 Spring Showcase - A Night of Talent and Inspiration
An unforgettable evening at the 2025 Spring Showcase, featuring the incredible talents of our young people at Lake Forest Charter! Experience the power of the Drama Club, the harmonious melodies of the Orchestra and Band, the soul-stirring voices of the Singing Eagles Choir, and the inspiring presentation by the Young Men of Standards.
This one-hour event will be a vibrant and inspiring opportunity to spotlight the creative achievements of our talented students across the visual and performing arts. It will bring together families, faculty, and community members to celebrate the diverse artistic disciplines we offer.
LFC Relay Teams Qualify for City-Wide Track & Field Championship
Lake Forest Charter’s 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams recently competed in the Elton Mimms Running Qualifying Meet, where they earned a spot in the upcoming Steven J. George City-wide Track & Field Championship.

The championship meet will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Victory Track in Joe Brown Park. Races begin at 9:00 a.m.
We’re proud of our Eagle Track athletes and their commitment to excellence. Best of luck to the team as they prepare to represent Lake Forest on the city stage.

Dear Rising 9th Graders
As you move on from 8th grade, take pride in all you’ve accomplished. High school is a fresh start, full of new challenges, new friends, and new chances to grow.
