LFC is a place where students from kindergarten through eighth grade build a strong foundation of knowledge, character, and skills, growing into confident learners and principled leaders prepared for the challenges ahead.

Your child’s success, both in school and beyond, is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by a clear vision for their future, we offer an education that blends rigorous academics with the development of integrity, responsibility, and empathy. In our classrooms, high expectations are paired with individualized support so students can think critically, solve problems, and lead with confidence. Together, we prepare them not only for college but for a lifetime of learning and opportunity.
Our Vision
Our vision is for 100% of our students to attend college and at least 85% go on to obtain advanced degrees. We can look at our vision in terms of why we do what we do, how we do it and what we actually deliver:
Why
Our Eagles deserve the best chance at realizing their highest potential and achieving their biggest goals. We believe that higher education increases access to advanced career opportunities.
How
We provide an environment of high-expectation which allows students to see themselves as we see them - capable future leaders in any field they choose to pursue.
What
Our accelerated, rigorous college-focused curriculum equips students with the knowledge, discipline, and skills needed to excel, ensuring our students are prepared for success in college and beyond.
Curriculum, governance, and resources
Our standard of excellence is grounded in high-quality instruction, focused school leadership and transparency in our process.
Our Values
At LFC we aim to nurture the whole child. Our value system helps students exercise ethical judgment and social responsibility, as well as strengthen their commitment to being the best version of themselves.

Honesty
By underscoring the importance of honesty, we teach our students to speak truthfully and to be transparent in their actions, thoughts, and feelings.
Respect
By fostering respect for others' opinions, beliefs, and differences, we teach our students to value themselves, their peers, teachers, and the world around them.
Kindness
By affirming kindness, we teach our students to empathize with others, to be compassionate and understanding, and to appreciate diversity.
Commitment
By highlighting commitment as foundational to success, we inspire students to approach their goals with intention and sustained effort.
Determination
By promoting determination, we teach our students to be resilient in the face of obstacles, to persevere through difficult tasks, and to stay motivated even when faced with setbacks.
Accountability
By emphasizing personal accountability, we teach our students to take responsibility for their actions and to understand the consequences of their choices.

How It All Started
Our History
Lake Forest Montessori was established in 1988. It thrived for many years before being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Under threat of the N.O. East community's demolition, several teachers and Ms. Early, gathered with determination to reopen the school. They believed that if the school reopened the residents would return. Their dedication to providing high quality education to children in the area galvanized the success of Lake Forest which was granted a public charter to operate in January 2006. In April 2006, the school opened with 66 students with a continued focus on an advanced accelerated curriculum. Since that time, Lake Forest Charter has become one of the highest performing K – 8 schools in Louisiana.
