Lake Forest Charter employs a full-time Social Worker

Goal:
Our school Social Worker is a vital part of the total education team. She works in collaboration with a school psychologist, school nurse, parents, teachers, and administrators.
Social Worker Services include:
- Promote regular school attendance of students through ongoing attendance monitoring
- Counsel with students and parents
- Provide teacher/administrative consultations
- Manage crisis situations
- Apply and teach conflict resolution/mediation skills
- Plan, conduct or assist with an in-service training program for school personnel
- Serve as a liaison between school and community referral resources
- Make home visits
- SATeam (Student Assistance Team)
- Conduct individual, group, and classroom sessions:

- Academic/retention support
- Test anxiety/relaxation

These services build upon a relationship of trust and facilitate efforts that result in increased student academic achievement and social success and contribute to Lake Forest’s mission of developing students into global citizens.
